Do we really want people eating that messy stuff all over the place? I mean, think about it: hackers aren't the cleanest group. You give 20 of us ketchup and at least three will somehow get it on their shoes.
Dogs are really easy to eat, and fairly neat as well, once you get past the fur and all.
we would need some HUGE convience store microwaves. i mean the term "hot dog" didn't come from no where.
ya the fur does get stuck in your teeth and all. maybe provide some dental floss as dessert.
oh and the ketchup. after the 3, somehow, get it on their shoes..don't forget the full ketchup packet that lands on the ground. never fails that someone will step on it and it goes "pop" all over the floor.

Your right, such thinking should be suppressed. We can't have these radical ideas being spread about this forum like they are. In fact I suggest that the next time anyone posts anything that doesn't fit the standards they be arrested, for expressing their Constitutional right to free speech! Wow, what's next? You going to tell us when to go to bed?
I did say "I think". It is my opinion no one else's.
Lex-- Very nice picture man. ;)
(BTW Pirho-- Go to BED :)

For those unfamiliar with New York City, it's that place with just about every sort of food and drink available in every price range within walking distance of everyplace at every hour of the day and night..
Do we really need to go to the trouble of getting our own food and drinks in?

2 reasons why we should.
1. Not everyone is familiar with NYC, remeber we have people from all over the world attending
2. Who the hell would want to wander aound NYC in the middle of the night?

I'm from Wisconsin, which might as well be another country. Hell yeah I'll walk around NYC in the middle of the night. That part of the city is popular with tourists and there is activity 24/7. I feel safer there at night than some other parts of NY I've been to during the day.

i'll agree. i'm from IL, which like WI, should be considered another country compared to NYC. i would like to not wander too much in NYC at night. last HOPE the most i wandered on foot, at night, was to Mustang Sally's. i was with a fairly decent sized group of guys, so i think that helped out. lol. tho you could always blame the paranoia on the fact i'm a tiny girl, and NYC is a BIG city. if i was with a group of people from NYC, i wouldn't really have any problem wandering at night.
overall i think just having munchie kind of food available round clock, would be the best. really when it comes down to just me personally, it really wouldn't matter. by the time night hit, i was out drinking and lost concern for food. ![]()

i have never been afraid to walk around Manhattan in the middle of the night

Sean Bell was killed in a seedy strip club in a crappy area of Jamaica, Queens I would definitely avoid at night. Midtown Manhattan, on the other hand, hasn't been a bad neighborhood since the 1980s.

Having lived in Midtown for the past 3 years, I can tell you it can be just as seedy.

THe main problem I can see for long walks at night during Hope is the heat and humidity that time of year. Simply stiffling.

heat and humidity? lol. try here. while at the last HOPE, i didn't even notice any humidity till about the last day. i thought it was wonderful weather. much better than IL summers.

Really? Its that bad in IL?
our summers are somewhere between 90-100F, add on top 100% humidity. hence why we live by the "feels like" temperature. who cares if it's 95F when it feels like 105F.
our winters are the opposite. lol. we chill around in the teens plus the wind chill puts our "feels like" at 0F.
hmm then spring we are wiped off the planet with tornadoes. any storm that brews from march through july brings hail and tornadoes.
BUT...fall is a peachy keen season. nice, simple, and perfect weather. ![]()

Just three i would have said 19 1/2 out of 20.
I think Lex is right though. We should be concentrating on the conference. I think things like having drinks, vending machines and catered food are extra. I think these ideas should be kept to a minimum. Having the Jolt drinks were a good idea. I think having anything else is a waste of resources. The organizers should concentrate on the conference, not having different food vendors for each of the attendees. Its only 3 days, I don't think its worth the trouble when all of Manhattan is right outside the door.
I wouldn't buy a single !@#$ item from a food vendor inside the con/hotel. If you go to manhattan for three days, it is a moral *imperative* to go outward and just experience the most amazing food in all the universe- that which comes from pretty much any place in manhattan (except for the 187 mcdonalds, and fastfood). You can spend 5 dollars or 500 dollars a plate in manhattan, but in either case you will not be disappointed. My personal favorite is the 2 dollar dim sum available on the street in chinatown...
Plus it is a good excuse to leave the hotel at 4 in the morning and experience the city a little... the subways, urban exploration, etcetera.
