With the number of people who have registered on this site, why are there only about six of us replying to posts?

I have asked other why they never posted, the reply was, they have nothing relivant to say.

You don't need something relevant to say! Just join in the conversation. "That sounds good" is a perfectly reasonable post. Forums die if no one posts something every few hours, because people get out of the habit of visiting the site.

God knows after what is now 314 posts, more then 75% of them were nothing rellivant.

actually, let me input more than that and say, i don't see anything here i want to contribute to, there is no discussion. i contribute to lots of forums and there is always some debate going on, or someone asking questions, or trying to find informations that i can contribute to, but not here.
although that situation is catch 22, because that doesn't exist because there is not enough people and there is not enough people because that isn't happening.

So. Do you all think the "official" scope of these forums should be widened to anything/everything 2600/Hacker/Phreaker/etc. related?
Would that boost participation? Probably. But Emmanuel's initial idea for these forums were to improve upon HOPE and plan for our next conference.
What're you all's ideas for greater participation / bettering of these forums?
I look forward to everyone's ideas.

You never know where an Idea for HOPE is going to come from. During WWII the greatest scientific minds were gathered around and let all their ideas fly out, they got creative, silly, and as a result they created something explosive that changed the face of the world as we knew it.
Now I'm not saying that this forum is going to come up with the worlds best projects and Ideas for HOPE but you never know. We should let people be people, sometimes its the littlest idea that sparks another and then another, next thing you know we have a hit on our hands.

i think it would be nice to have it widened to at least 2600. seeing how half the people are here because they are HOPE goers and love hacking. while the other loves hacking and came here because of 2600. put them together and really we are all here because of 2600.
i think a general forum would help with site participation, simply because not everyone ALWAYS has something to say about HOPE. keep things more organized, so that HOPE threads are staying on topic.
really i vote to widen it to 2600/HOPE.
