Announcement

Welcome to the HOPE Forums, also known as talk.hope.net. Since 1994 (the year of the first HOPE conference), we've had nine conferences. This is the place to come up with ideas, make suggestions, and welcome new people.

You'll find sections on just about anything of interest to HOPE attendees. If you think something is missing start a thread in the "General Questions" forum and/or ask people about it. Thanks for participating and see you at HOPE!

I agree, lets do this!

For anyone who has ever seen the "Hand of God" episode of mythbusters, I think we can rig something up to do the job.

i havent, but the "hand of god" enlightenment theme was the 3L337 back in 1998...  oh... my bad...

So basically you're saying it's illegal to ride a Segway anywhere but inside in Manhattan? That's fucking BULLSHIT. Who passed that law? And WHEN?

Sounds to me like they're just doing it so that the cops can have an advantage.

I'm glad DC doesn't have that law.

Re: All night activities / caffiene / great talks / etc.

What worked for me was volunteering and meeting new people I otherwise wouldn't have.  The nightly trips to the bar organized by the help desk crew kept me from treating my time at HOPE like going to any other convention (simply showing up to hear people talk and take notes).  it made it more of an experience, and a fun one at that.

I don't think that is true.  I have seen advertising for all sorts of shit by people on segways in times square.

Yes, the nightly trips were a blast. I will be doing my best to make it happen this year again. Though, not so sure if I will be planted at the help desk this time around.
