Well now, lets think about this. Why not have Emmanuel as a Keynote? If we think about this, he has been involved in the Hacker and Phreaker community since 1984 (probably before that too), he has had articles written about him, been on TV, appeared before Congress (or was it the Senate?) and, has ties to other legends in the community, Phiber, Kevin, Cheshire, Bernie, Crunch, and many more. I can't think of one reason why we shouldnt have him.

I'm just saying it takes time and effort to prepare a keynote speech, and if you're running the conference at the same time, that's a lof of extra work and stress.

I'm sure he could spare a hour or so. If he can do a panel about 2600 meetings and an uneditied version of off the hook, then he can fit it into his schedule.

Emmanuel already gives the longest speech at HOPE. It lasts for about three days, and can be caught in chapters ranging from a few seconds to an hour throughout the con.

To those of us who do not know him personally but only from the HOPE & OTH audio files, Emmanuel is an enigma. We don't know much about his past exploits or impressive feats. All we know is that he has a very familiar voice, face, and name. It would be very interesting to hear about some of his adventures and his thoughts on the state and future state of hacking on planet earth. Like Pirho, i see no reason for him not to, especially seeing as the cons may only be around (at least in the traditional venue) for one more event.
